Enhanced Pastaroni
Aug. 19th, 2008 08:25 amI am nostalgic about Pastaroni, having eaten a lot of it during high school. Mom always seemed embarrassed about feeding us boxed food, but it tasted good.
I shelled about four handfuls of peapods into the pasta as it cooked. This took about 6 minutes, which is as long as you're supposed to cook the pasta for, so some of the peas were done and some were nearly raw. It makes for a nice mix of textures, although the peas would have benefited from cooking all the way through. We'll see how they microwave for lunch.
